Biography

Andrei Dubov

Andrei Dubov was born in Moscow, in 1987. His music education started when he was 4 years old, in 2006 Andrei Dubov finished the Gnessins Music School (College) under the class of Lidia Grigorieva. In 2011 Andrei graduated with honors from the Russian State Gnessins Academy of Music. Later, in 2014 he finished this academy as a postgraduate student under the class of prof. Sergei Senkov. He also has got a foreign education in Europe. In 2016 Andrei Dubov graduated from Mozarteum (Salzburg, Austria), postgraduate course, with prof. Andreas Groethuysen, then in 2016 musician studied with prof. Epifanio Comis at Accademia Pianistica Siciliana (Italy). 
Professor Arie Vardi told about him: "Very successful combination of Russian and Germain piano school. Hot heart and deep understanding of music form."

Andrei Dubov has a lot of prizes on different prestigious International piano competitions. Among them are the 2nd prize in the 23rd International Piano Competition in Epinal (France, 2011), the 3rd prize in the 5th International A. Rubinshtein Piano Competition (Dresden, Germany), in 2014 Andrei won the the main prize in the I International Music Competition "eMuse" (Athens, Greece). He was the 1st prize winner in "The Grand Prize Virtuoso" piano competition in Paris (France, 2015). Andrei Dubov is the 1st prize winner in the 7th International piano competition in Almaty (Kazakhstan, 2015). He was the 3rd prize winner on the 4th International Hong Kong piano competition in 2016 and has got the 3rd prize in Astana Eurasian Music Games in 2017.
Chairman of the jury of the 7th Almaty International piano competition, Jania Aubakirova told in her interview: "I am impressed by what an artistic, professional, personal shape of our winner Andrei Dubov was. Some rare combination when both internal and external nature are coincides, when purity of his mind and external manifestations is absolutely transparent."

Andrei Dubov partiсipated in such important festivals as "Beethovenfest" (Germany), "Brucknerfest" (Austria), "Autumno musicale" (Italy), Trecastagni International Music Festival (Italy), "Internationale Klavier Akademie Freiburg Pianofest" (Germany) and many others.

Pianist wrote his piano arrangement «Night on Bald mountain» in 2005. This work was performed in many International piano competitions, such as Tchaikovsky piano competition or Scotish International piano competition and it was highly appreciated by all members of jury. In period from 2014 till 2015 he writes arrangements on three romances by Rachmaninov and Andante maestoso by Tchaikovsky. These pieces always find a place on recitals of Andrei Dubov as encores or as part of main program. Piano transcriptions were highly appreciated by such wellknown musicians as Mikhail Voskresensky, Arie Vardi, Boris Berezovsky, Jura Margulis, Pavel Gililov etc.

 Now musician gives his recitals and masterclasses in different countries all over the world, performing music works of different epoques and genres.
